Otuke district emerged among the top teams in the recently concluded Uganda Primary School Sports Association Ball Games National Championship 2026.
In Hand ball (boys) Otuke district emerged second after Nabilatuk district while Soroti city was third in the U-14 category.
Otuke district also came third in U-14 girls football category while Adjumani emerged 1sts followed by Kabarole district.
The games that were held at Mubende Army Secondary School, Mubende Municipality kicked off from 23 August and run till 4-9-2026.
The participants were from nine Cities, 30 Municipalities and 117 Districts who took part in Football, Netball, Handball, Volleyball, Woodball, and KhoKho for children aged 12-14 years.
Nine districts, municipalities and City in Lango participated in the games including Lira City that fielded the boys’ netball team and emerged 45th, Dokolo district was 55th, Amolatar 73rd, Lira district 75th, Alebtong, 81st out of 81 districts.
In Handball girls’ category, Otuke was 9th out of 11 districts, in Handball, boys’ category , Apac Municipality emerged 5th, Lira City was 12th out of 18 districts.
Kwania district emerged in 5th position in the under 14 girls’ handball category out of 20 districts that participated in this category.
Oyam district U-14 boys volleyball team came in 20th position out of 25 participating districts.
