Kwania district elects committee chair-Persons as CAO urges ethical leadership.
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Kwania District has cautioned both technical and political leaders against misusing their offices, emphasizing the need for integrity and professionalism in public service.
Speaking yesterday during an emergency District Council meeting convened to elect committee chairpersons, the CAO said all public officers must uphold positive work ethics and manage their time effectively to ensure timely delivery of services to the people of Kwania District.
The Speaker of Kwania District Council, Sharon Becca Auma, said the special council sitting was called specifically to elect chairpersons for the various standing committees.
She noted that the early election of committee leaders would enable the committees to begin work immediately and ensure that government programmes and services are effectively implemented across the district.
Kwania District LCV Chairperson George Kakaoma Akacha commended the councillors for conducting the elections peacefully and in a spirit of unity. He urged the newly elected committee chairpersons to work closely with both political and technical staff to improve service delivery and promote the district's development agenda.
The council elected chairpersons for the district's standing committees, including the Committee on Health, Education, Social and Community-Based Services; the Committee on Finance, Planning and Administration; and the Committee on Works, Production and Technical Services.
· Fatuma Adongo, Councillor representing Chawente Sub-county, was elected Chairperson of the Finance, Planning and Administration Committee.
· Martin Okech, elected Chairperson of the Health, Education, Social and Community-Based Services Committee.
· And Gregory Adupa, elected Chairperson of the Works, Production and Technical Services Committee.
The newly elected leaders were tasked to assume their responsibilities immediately to oversee committee work and support the effective implementation of government programmes in Kwania District.
