KWANIA COMMISSIONED 10 SCHOOL PROJECTS WORTH 637.4M

Kwania District Local Government has commissioned More Than 10 completed school infrastructure projects worth 637.4 million shillings for the Financial Year 2025/2026.
This money which came through the School Facilitation Grant in the Department of Education in Kwania District will fund 14 projects in 15 schools where work has been completed well, and the district has officially hand over these projects.

Tom Alex Opara, Head Teacher of Tegot Primary School, and Julius Ojok Akejo, Deputy Head Teacher of Aduku Seed SS, welcomed the construction projects with joy and asked government to increase funding for such projects while urging that all necessary learning materials be provided alongside these new structures.

The Resident District Commissioner of Kwania District, Richard Arikwanga, while serving as the chief guest at the ceremony of handing over these projects to the beneficiary communities and school leaderships, which was held at Tegot PS - Chawente, cautioned leaders over mismanagement of school Foundation Bodies which he said is destroying education, noting that the standard of education in Kwania District is poor interims of foundation body tension .

Andrew Omunu, Kwania District Acting Education Officer, said last financial year's projects were completed well but community members must ensure they are properly maintained and that all the necessary learning materials are provided.

Kwania District Acting Engineer, Edward Odongo Eyak, said there are many challenges that they encounter during the process of implementing the process. he urges community members and school leaders must look into and ensure these facilities are used properly, which will also help government.

Frederick Herbert Kitutu, Chief Administrative Officer of Kwania District, asked the beneficiary schools to ensure they work hard to improve children's performance in exams and make good use of the facilities provided to them.

George Kakoma Akaca, the LC5 Chairperson of Kwania District, while handing over these projects, said they have taken the initiative to prioritize education as a very powerful tool that can eradicate poverty, and the initiative must be guarded jealously until the moment it yields results and brings back the past glory of education which government hopes for from schools.

These commissioned projects include construction of 2 classroom blocks each at Adera PS - Chawente, Tegot PS - Chawente, and Amwanga PS - Atongtidi, construction of 5-stance toilets at Ayabi PS, provision of 108 desks to Adera PS, Anwangi PS, Tegot PS, and Atule PS, and staff houses at Ikwera PS - Aduku Town Council, Inomo PS - Inomo Town Council, Aporwegi PS - Aduku, Telela PS - Akali, Ogwok PS - Abongomola, Abura - Nambeso, Okik PS - Ayabi Sub-County, Aderolongo PS - Akali, and supply of computers and desks to Aduku Seed SS.
