Kwania County Mp Tonny Eron has donated 3500 plastic chairs worth shs85million to support locals in his constituency.
Speaking at the handover of the chairs for Ayabi, Nambeso and Ayabi Town council said he procured the chairs with his personal salary to reduce on the financial pressure of hiring chairs by local residents.
Eron said another donation of four tents per Sub County will be made soon, warning NRM leaders in charge of keeping the chairs to ensure it benefits everyone without discrimination on party and religious lines.
Eron revealed that a recent NRM causes meting resolved to ensure leaders probe school fees payment in government aided schools, to ensure it is not exorbitant for residents, as well as corruption in government projects targeting mainly schools and health facilities to ensure culprits are brought to book.
Patrick Onyum Okwang the NRM secretary and Emmanuel Opio Okello the party publicity secretary for Kwania who represented the district NRM party chairperson, expressed their appreciation for the donation of the chairs.
Rev. Felix Ekwang the archdeacon of Abongomola Archdeaconry drew his sermon from Proverbs 28:12 that calls on the righteous to work for the good of the people.
Locals of Ayabi Sub Colunty and Ayabi Town Council including; Susan Omunu, Ambrose Oula, Nickson Akwanga, and Akullu Oliver who witnessed the handover of the chairs hailed MP Eron for the support.
John Denis Ebuu the LC3 chairman of Ayabi Town council, Acan Hellen Stella female LC5 councilor of Ayabi Town council said the chairs will reduce financial burden on locals for hiring chairs during different functions.
Chawente Sub County received 1,000 chairs, Atongtidi 500, Ayabi Town council 500, Ayabi Sub Copunty, 500 and Nambieso got 1000 chairs.
