Kwania District Emerges 6th out of many participating districts in Uganda National Kids Ball Games Championship 2026.

Kwania District has emerged in the 6th position out of 24 districts that participated in the Under-14 National Primary School Kids Ball Games and Special Needs Education Championship 2026.

The championship was held from 24th August to 2nd September 2026 in Mubende Army School in Mubende District.

Uganda Primary School Sports Association officials in Kwania District have called on the Ministry of Education and Sports to address key challenges affecting the development of players, including proper identification and selection of players as well as transparency in judging the games.

The officials made the call yesterday at Ikwera Primary School Unite for the Blind in Aduku Town council-Kwania district after the district returned from the championship, where they highlighted several challenges encountered during the national games.

George Guna, the Vice Chairperson of Uganda Primary School Sports Association for Kwania District, and Isaac Ekwang, the Kwania District Sports Officer, cited several challenges related to preparations for the national competitions like feeding that was conducted by national organising committee and they urged them to roll it too regional feeding as different region has kind of feeding their children.

Andrew Omunu, the District Education Officer of Kwania, said the Education Department has participated in four sports disciplines in which pupils participate at regional and national levels. These include Ball Games, Music, Dance and Drama, Scouts and Girl Guides, as well as Athletics, giving pupils opportunities to showcase their talents.

Martin Okech, the Vice Chairperson of Northern Uganda Football Association, also LC5 Councilor for Aduku Town Council and Committee Chairperson of Education, Health and Community Based Services, pledged to provide full support to address various challenges affecting sports development in Kwania District by engaging sub county leaders to support the sporting activities as prioritize in their approved budget.

Meanwhile, the 10 participants selected from 58 government primary schools in the district represented Kwania District in the championship were commended for their determination, discipline, sportsmanship and commitment which enabled them to earn certificates, gain experience and travel to different parts of the country.
