What the report says

Christian leaders from Uganda and elsewhere in East Africa are expected to meet in Kampala for the 3rd East Africa Fire and Anointing Pastors Conference, a gathering that will combine worship, ministry discussions and a focus on helping vulnerable communities. According to Nile Post, the event is scheduled for August 24–25, 2026, at Sharing Youth Centre in Nsambya and will run from morning to evening on both days.

The conference is being organised by Heal The Planet Global Organisation and funded by Breath of the Spirit Ministries and Chesed International Charity. Organisers said the programme will bring together pastors, ministers and other Christian leaders to pray, learn from one another and discuss leadership and spiritual empowerment. They also want to use the meeting to encourage church leaders to play a stronger role in serving people affected by hardship.

A major theme will be humanitarian support for refugees and other vulnerable groups. The organisers said ministries linked to the conference have previously provided medical supplies, food, clothing and other aid to communities in Uganda, including refugee settlements such as Nakivale, Bidibidi and Imvepi, as well as through medical outreach. Dr Earnest Benjamin Kivumbi of Heal The Planet Global Organisation said the conference is intended not only as a religious event but also as a platform for churches to strengthen their service to communities.

More broadly, the report suggests the event reflects a growing overlap in the region between church activity and humanitarian outreach. As presented by Nile Post, the Kampala meeting is meant to deepen cooperation among faith leaders while highlighting practical support for people affected by conflict, disasters and other social needs.
