Kasuku and Zubeda podcast comes to DStv

What the report says
DStv is preparing to add a Ugandan podcast to its television lineup, with Watchdog Uganda reporting that The Short & Byg Show will debut on Pearl Magic Prime. The program is hosted by media personalities Isaac Katende, known as Kasuku, and Shamim Mayanja, also called Zubedah. According to the publisher, the show is known for informal discussion, humour and commentary on topics that range from celebrity culture to relationships and everyday life.
The article says the move marks a shift from digital platforms to TV for a show that has built a large following online. It describes the podcast as one that mixes Luganda and English and features conversations about trending community stories, social media debates and wider cultural issues in Uganda. MultiChoice Uganda’s Head of Marketing, Colin Asiimwe, said the addition reflects the company’s focus on local content that connects with modern audiences.
Watchdog Uganda said the launch underscores MultiChoice Uganda’s effort to expand locally produced entertainment on DStv and GOtv. The premiere is listed for Friday, 13 November 2026, at 9:30 p.m. on Pearl Magic Prime, channel 148 on DStv and 303 on GOtv. The development matters because it shows a popular Ugandan digital format moving into mainstream pay TV, giving the hosts a broader national audience.
