C-Care and DFCU Bank Partner to Expand Access to Quality Healthcare Through Blue Care

What the report says
C-Care Uganda and DFCU Bank have announced a partnership to widen access to healthcare financing through Blue Care Insurance, a medical cover product intended for individuals and families in Uganda. According to Watchdog Uganda, the collaboration combines DFCU Bank’s financial services network with C-Care’s healthcare footprint to help more people access treatment while reducing the burden of medical costs.
The announcement featured during C-Care’s Customer Appreciation Dinner at Onomo Hotel in Kampala on 30 October 2026, an event that brought together former patients and other stakeholders. C-Care said the gathering was meant to encourage direct feedback from patients and support service improvements across its facilities. The company said it serves more than 700,000 patients each year and continues to invest in expanding and upgrading care delivery.
Watchdog Uganda reported that Blue Care Insurance was launched earlier in the year and is aimed at extending medical cover beyond traditional employer-based schemes. The product is available to people aged 18 to 70, with annual premiums starting at UGX 1 million, and can be accessed by both DFCU account holders and non-account holders.
C-Care also said it is investing in digital booking tools and new facilities as part of a broader effort to make healthcare easier to reach. The partnership matters because it reflects a growing trend in Uganda toward linking health services and financial providers to improve access to care and strengthen protection against unexpected medical expenses.
