Judiciary Set for Third National Court Open Day at Kololo on September 10

What the report says
The Judiciary in Uganda plans to hold its third National Court Open Day on September 10, 2026, at Kololo Independence Grounds, according to Nile Post. The event is intended to bring court services closer to the public and give court users, litigants, advocates, students, journalists, civil society groups and other members of the public a chance to engage directly with judicial officers and justice-sector institutions.
The open day will run under the theme “Delivering Inclusive, Efficient and Effective Justice.” Judiciary official Maria Theresa Nabulya said on Salam TV that the gathering is meant to help people better understand court procedures, available services and ongoing reforms. She also encouraged Ugandans to attend, ask questions and raise concerns about how justice services are delivered.
Nile Post reports that the Judiciary will use the event to highlight reforms and innovations, including the digitalisation of case management. Officials say that change has altered how courts manage files and has helped reduce delays. The program will also cover plea bargaining and mediation, two processes used in appropriate cases to resolve disputes more efficiently.
The Judiciary says the day is part of a wider effort to improve transparency, strengthen public trust and expand access to justice. The event is expected to include exhibition booths, question-and-answer sessions and direct interactions between the public and justice sector actors.
