Jared Leto Accused of Criminal Sexual Conduct by Four Women in BBC Documentary - Variety

Variety reports that a new BBC documentary, “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret,” features allegations from 10 women about actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto, including four women who accuse him of criminal sexual conduct. The documentary is scheduled to air Wednesday, according to Variety, and the women say the encounters took place between 2002 and 2016, when they were teenagers or younger women and Leto was in his 30s and 40s.

The allegations described by Variety include one woman’s claim that Leto assaulted her in a motel bathroom when she was 17, another’s claim that he threatened her with sexual assault when she was 19, and a third woman’s account of sex in California when she was 17, below the state’s age of consent. A fourth woman alleges sexually explicit phone calls when she was 16; the BBC says it reviewed a nondisclosure agreement she was asked to sign, which she declined.

Leto, 54, denied the accusations in a statement provided to Variety through representatives, saying he has never sexually assaulted anyone and calling the claims false. Variety also reports that the BBC said it corroborated some accounts with friends and family told at the time, and in some cases reviewed photos and messages it says supported the women’s accounts.

The documentary also includes two men who worked with Thirty Seconds to Mars and said staff were uncomfortable with Leto’s interactions with teenage girls. Variety notes the BBC program follows earlier public allegations, including from DJ Allie Teilz and a 2025 Air Mail report, which Leto also denied.
