Court Restrains Protesters from Blocking PRO Industries Factory

What the report says
The High Court in Luweero has issued an interim order stopping Lim Welo General Stores Limited, Isma Mubiru and related parties from blocking or interfering with the operations of PRO Industries Limited. According to Nile Post, the order was signed on Monday, August 17, by High Court Judge Godfrey Himbaza in a dispute brought by PRO Industries.
The court barred the respondents, their agents and employees from trespassing on the factory, parking trucks or other vehicles at its entrances and exits, or otherwise obstructing access to the premises. It also prohibited interference with the company’s business, including contact with its workers, customers and suppliers. The order further limits acts that could sabotage the factory’s operations or affect its day-to-day business.
The ruling came after more than 70 maize traders reportedly gathered at the company’s facility in Ndibuluungi, Butuntumula Sub-county, Luweero District, to press for payment for maize they say they supplied. The traders claimed the amount due is more than Shs2 billion and parked trucks at the entrance, disrupting access to the site.
The court did not decide whether the debt claim is valid or how much, if any, is owed. Instead, it temporarily preserved the status quo until the application for interim orders is heard. Nile Post said the case is set for hearing on September 3, 2026.
