Dry spell destroys first-season crops, puts 34,000 Otuke households at risk of hunger
More than 34,000 households in Otuke District face hunger after a prolonged dry spell wiped out first-season crops that were close to harvest. District leaders say they have assessed the damage and asked the Office of the Prime Minister for relief food, while farmers are also appealing for seeds to plant again.
