What the report says

Air Zimbabwe’s revived Harare-London service has faced another delay, with the carrier confirming a second schedule change in one week. According to New Zimbabwe, the airline said Flight UM724 from Harare to London was rescheduled to depart on the evening of August 3, 2026, while the return flight, UM725, was also moved to August 4. The airline attributed the changes to an operational disruption and said it was adjusting operations to restore normal service.

The latest setback comes only days after an earlier cancellation of a London-bound flight, which the report said followed the captain reportedly falling ill. Air Zimbabwe did not offer additional detail on that cancellation. The service is operating with a wet-leased Airbus A330-300 from a Spanish airline, the same aircraft used when the carrier relaunched its London route on July 22 after a 14-year break.

The repeated disruptions are significant because the route is still in its early stages and was presented as an important comeback for Zimbabwe’s national airline. The report said Air Zimbabwe apologised to customers and said its service team was contacting affected passengers with revised travel arrangements. While the article noted speculation about the causes of the disruption, those claims were not clearly confirmed by the airline.
