UNICEF says one child killed per day in Gaza since ‘ceasefire’

UNICEF says children in Gaza have continued to die at a rate of roughly one a day since a ceasefire was announced on October 10, 2025, with at least 300 children reportedly killed over about 300 days. In a statement reported by Al Jazeera on August 6, 2026, the UN agency also said hundreds more children have been wounded, many of them seriously.

The agency urged parties to a proposed US-led peace plan to turn commitments into concrete protections for civilians.
