According to the article, UEFA is seeking information from Thrive Capital Management and its founder Joshua Kushner about the proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise transaction. That plan, later withdrawn by Infantino on 1 August after criticism from football groups and others, would have sold a lasting stake in commercial and operational rights connected to the World Cup and other FIFA events to private investors. UEFA has also said it is weighing whether to file a criminal complaint in Switzerland alleging mismanagement, while Infantino has denied wrongdoing and has not been charged.

UEFA argued that the US subsidiaries are not direct targets of the contemplated Swiss case and should not act on behalf of FIFA or Infantino, neither of whom has asked to intervene. It also said the subsidiaries’ confidentiality concerns belong to FIFA itself and that the usual process would allow subpoena challenges later, after service. The court has not yet ruled on either the discovery request or the intervention motion. The dispute comes as Infantino is preparing for a possible fourth FIFA presidential term in March 2027.
