NBC News reports that two days of services for Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., are set to begin Tuesday in Washington, with President Donald Trump, congressional officials, military leaders and foreign leaders expected to honor the longtime senator, who died this month at 71. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are among those expected to attend, reflecting Graham’s long involvement in defense and foreign policy issues.

According to NBC, Graham’s casket will be carried Tuesday morning by an armed forces body bearer team in recognition of his military record as an Air Force JAG officer and Air Force Reserve colonel. He will not lie in state or honor, but a private, livestreamed ceremony will take place in the Capitol Rotunda, where a U.S. Capitol Police memorial guard will recognize his Senate service. An invitation-only funeral at Washington National Cathedral is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET, with Trump expected to speak.

Services will continue Wednesday in South Carolina, which Graham represented in Congress for more than 30 years. NBC reports that the public may pay respects along a procession route near the State House in Columbia before a funeral at First Baptist Church of Columbia and a private burial in Pickens County, where Graham and his sister, Darline Graham, were raised.

Graham had chaired the Senate Budget Committee and previously served in the House before nearly 25 years in the Senate. NBC says South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster appointed Darline Graham to serve the remaining six months of his term; she has also announced a campaign for a full term ahead of an Aug. 11 primary.
