What the report says

Wakiso District Local Government reported that District Chairperson Eng. Ian Kyeyune warned the newly approved district executive to perform their duties effectively or face consequences. He made the remarks during a council sitting after the executive was approved, saying the appointees should serve councillors and communities rather than use the positions for status. Kyeyune also urged them to stay accessible, work across political lines, and avoid actions that could widen personal or political divisions.

The council approved a new executive team, including Ssentalo Sanasio Edward Musambwa as vice chairperson, Nalumansi Halima as secretary for social and community-based services, Mubiru Moses as secretary for production and technical services, and Kalyebala Sherry as secretary for administration, finance and planning. The same sitting also saw councillors elect committee chairpersons by secret ballot.

According to the district’s publication, the committee leadership includes Gita Joseph of NUP for administration, finance and planning; Namugga Sarah Kasule of NRM for works, production and technical services; and Dr. Mwijuka Ahmada of NRM for social and community-based services. The meeting ended with the swearing-in of the executive members and committee chairpersons, and was presided over by Chief Administrative Officer Mark Jude Bukenya. The district said it was the second sitting of the Seventh Council of Wakiso District Local Government.
