Texts reveal 14-year-old allegedly murdered by singer D4vd had pregnancy and abortion

Nile Post, carrying BBC reporting, says prosecutors in Los Angeles presented text messages during a pre-trial hearing for singer D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, as a judge considers whether he should stand trial over the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The messages allegedly show discussions between Burke and Celeste about pregnancy and abortion while she was a minor. Burke has pleaded not guilty to charges including murder and sexual abuse.

According to the report, prosecutors told the court that messages recovered from Burke’s iPhone included exchanges dating back to August 2022, when Celeste was 11 and Burke was 17. In January and June 2024 messages cited in court, the two allegedly discussed a pregnancy and abortion. Prosecutors also alleged that Burke killed Celeste after she threatened to expose abuse of a minor and damage his career.

The hearing also included testimony from Los Angeles Police Detective Corey Farell and medical examiner Dr Grant Ho. Prosecutors said DNA from blood found at Burke’s Hollywood Hills home and garage matched Celeste. Ho testified that decomposition made it very difficult to determine the exact time of death, a point the defence used to question the prosecution’s account. The report says Celeste’s remains were found in the front trunk of Burke’s Tesla in September 2025, after she had been reported missing and was last seen at his home on 3 April 2025.

Burke, known for TikTok-era hits including “Romantic Homicide” and “Here With Me,” was reportedly on tour when the body was found; the tour was later cancelled. Testimony in the pre-trial hearing was expected to continue on Monday.
