Texts reveal 14-year-old allegedly murdered by singer D4vd had pregnancy and abortion

BBC World News reported that text messages presented in a Los Angeles court hearing indicated that Celeste Rivas Hernandez, the 14-year-old whom singer D4vd is accused of killing, had been pregnant and had undergone an abortion before her death. The hearing is part of proceedings to decide whether D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, should face trial over the teen’s death last year.

According to the BBC’s account of prosecutors’ presentation, messages from 2024 included exchanges about pregnancy and abortion between Celeste and Burke. Prosecutors said Celeste was 13 at the time of some of the messages and Burke was 19. They allege Burke killed her after she threatened to disclose that he had been abusing a minor and damage his career. Burke has pleaded not guilty to charges including murder and sexual abuse.

The court also heard testimony about iCloud data recovered from Burke’s iPhone, which prosecutors said contained messages between the two dating back to August 2022, when Celeste was 11 and Burke was 17. Prosecutors allege he met her online and began sexually abusing her when she was 13 and he was 18.

BBC reported that Celeste’s remains were found in the front trunk of Burke’s Tesla in September 2025, the day after she would have turned 15, while the singer was on tour. Police announced Burke’s arrest in April. Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman has filed seven criminal charges, including murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child and mutilation of remains. The case has drawn attention because Burke became widely known through TikTok hits including “Romantic Homicide” and “Here With Me.”
