Sudan: SAF Accused of Civilian Killings As RSF Drones Strike Three States

What the report says

Dabanga, via AllAfrica, reported on 12 August 2026 that violence in Sudan continued to affect civilians far from the main battle lines. In North Kordofan, the Emergency Lawyers Group accused the Sudanese Armed Forces of killing at least five civilians and wounding more than 10 others, including women and children, in areas northeast of Jabra El Sheikh. The group said an army vehicle moved toward farming and grazing areas and attacked unarmed people in homes, fields and livestock grounds, while noting there were no reported clashes at the time. Among the dead, it named a local sheikh, his son and another civilian.

The group called for an independent investigation, the release of people it said were detained, and accountability for those responsible. The report said Radio Dabanga was unable to immediately reach the Sudanese army for comment.

The same day, the Rapid Support Forces were reported to have launched drone attacks across River Nile, Khartoum and North Kordofan states. Residents described drone activity and explosions near Ed Damer and Atbara in River Nile, and in Omdurman and Bahri in the greater Khartoum area. In El Obeid, a drone strike reportedly killed a woman and a man and wounded several others, with Sudanese army air defenses responding. The incidents underline how Sudan’s conflict is increasingly exposing civilians in multiple states to attacks, including from drones and ground forces.
