Spurs' Maddison fit to face Palace - De Zerbi

What the report says
Tottenham midfielder James Maddison is expected to be available for Saturday’s Premier League match against Crystal Palace, according to manager Roberto De Zerbi. The BBC Sport report says the England international had raised concerns after limping off during Spurs’ 2-0 win at Chelsea last week, but he has since been cleared for the Palace visit.
De Zerbi said Maddison missed some training time this week, though he described the player as ready to be involved. The manager also noted that Spurs are being careful with players returning from long injury spells, particularly after Maddison’s recent fitness problems.
Maddison’s latest scare added to an injury-hit period for the midfielder. He missed much of last season with an ACL problem and also fractured his shoulder earlier in the current campaign. He returned to Spurs’ starting line-up earlier this month and scored in a 3-1 win over Coventry.
The article adds that Tottenham have won their last two games with Maddison back in the side and are currently 14th in the Premier League after moving out of the relegation zone. Maddison joined from Leicester City in 2023 on a five-year deal, and has been an important creative player for the north London club.
