O'Neill agrees with McGregor about Celtic issues

What the report says
Celtic manager Martin O’Neill has backed captain Callum McGregor’s recent criticism of the team’s performances, saying he is in full agreement with the midfielder’s assessment that the side has been losing some control in matches. McGregor had raised concerns after Wednesday’s 2-2 draw with Dundee United, arguing that certain phases of play had become chaotic and suggesting that the use of strikers in wide positions may be affecting balance.
O’Neill made his comments ahead of Celtic’s Scottish Premiership match against Falkirk. He said the players mentioned in the discussion, including Callum Osmand and Camilo Duran, are naturally centre forwards and are still getting used to each other, which he believes is part of the problem. He also indicated that Osmand is better suited to playing alongside another forward rather than leading the line alone.
The BBC report said Celtic remain four points clear at the top of the league and could move seven points ahead with a win over Falkirk, depending on other results. The club has also faced fan frustration, including concern over European results, while O’Neill said the squad is still adjusting because several players did not complete a full pre-season with the team. He said the group needs time but believes the issues can be resolved.
