South Sudan: Evidentia AI Completes South Sudan Pilot with the Department of Betting, Gaming and Lotteries, Advancing Transparent and Accountable Gaming Oversight Across Africa

What the report says
Evidentia AI says it has completed a pilot in South Sudan and shared the results with the Department of Betting, Gaming and Lotteries at the Ministry of Finance and Planning in Juba. According to the AllAfrica-distributed release, the four-week review was designed to help the department build an independent, evidence-based understanding of the country’s betting market.
The company described the exercise as a market review carried out without integration into operator systems, without access to official records and without transactions. It said the findings were handed directly to the department and were intended to support a clearer basis for regulatory decisions. Evidentia AI, which works on gaming revenue intelligence and compliance monitoring, said its approach focuses on verifiable evidence and independent oversight.
Daniel Apuk Deng Reech, director for Betting, Gaming and Lotteries at the ministry, said the department viewed the pilot as a practical first step in strengthening sector oversight and would consider the findings within its mandate. The company said the project reflects a broader push across Africa to use digital tools for gaming regulation while addressing issues such as data sovereignty, privacy and the balance between compliance and business growth.
The release also framed the pilot as part of Evidentia AI’s wider model for African regulators, with the next phase described as real-time transaction monitoring. As presented by the company, the South Sudan pilot is intended to help local authorities keep decisions and oversight in their own hands while improving accountability in the gaming sector.
