Al Jazeera, citing Reuters, reported that the West Indies defeated Pakistan by 90 runs in the first Test at Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago, taking a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. Fast bowler Jayden Seales was the decisive figure on the fourth day, taking 5 wickets for 20 runs as Pakistan were bowled out for 120 while chasing 211.

The West Indies had gained a narrow 29-run advantage after the first innings and then scored 181 in their second innings, leaving Pakistan a difficult but reachable target.
