What the report says

BBC Sport reports that Manchester City winger Savinho is receptive to leaving the club in the current transfer window, with Tottenham Hotspur interested in bringing him to London. The report says Spurs head coach Roberto de Zerbi has identified the 22-year-old Brazil international as an important target, and that City know of Tottenham’s interest.

According to BBC Sport, work around a possible transfer is now taking place, with Savinho understood to be keen on the move. Tottenham also explored a deal for him last summer, but Manchester City were not prepared to sell at that point. Savinho later agreed a two-year extension in October that tied him to City until 2031.

Savinho moved to Manchester City from sister club Troyes in July 2024 for £30.8m after spending the previous season on loan at Girona in Spain. He was heavily involved in his first City campaign under Pep Guardiola, recording three goals in 48 matches in all competitions. The BBC report says his playing time was reduced last term, when he made 36 appearances.

The potential transfer matters because it would involve a young international forward moving between two Premier League clubs, while also raising questions about Manchester City’s attacking depth and Tottenham’s recruitment plans. BBC Sport notes that Savinho has faced competition on the right side from Rayan Cherki, signed from Lyon, and Antoine Semenyo, who arrived from Bournemouth in January.
