Citing comments made to The Korea Times, the report says Samsung is positioning the device around its strength as a smartphone maker, with the glasses designed to work closely with the Galaxy ecosystem rather than replace the phone as a standalone computing device.

According to 9to5Google, Samsung previewed several integrations during Unpacked. These included using Wear OS watch gestures to control the glasses, showing photos taken by the glasses through notifications on a paired phone, and giving Galaxy Buds priority over the glasses’ built-in speakers. Samsung also described the glasses as being built to Galaxy smartphone standards for durability and reliability, while emphasizing lighter weight and comfort compared with Meta’s smart glasses.

Pricing remains undefined, but 9to5Google says Samsung is aiming for a “reasonable” cost while still placing the product in a premium category. For context, the article notes that Meta’s newest smart glasses begin at $299. Samsung also highlighted privacy protections, including disabling recording when the privacy light is covered or when the glasses are not being worn.
