Parkinson admits no guarantees of Wrexham signings

What the report says
Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson says the club is still trying to strengthen before the transfer window closes, but he has warned there are no guarantees that new signings will arrive. Speaking after Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Watford in the Championship, Parkinson said the club are targeting players who can make a difference, while acknowledging they are competing with other teams for the same targets.
The BBC Sport Wales report says co-chairmen Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac were in attendance at the Racecourse Ground and had transfer discussions with Parkinson before the match, alongside chief executive Mike Williamson and director Sean Harvey. Parkinson said Wrexham know which positions they want to fill, but described the market as difficult because other clubs in England and across Europe are also chasing similar players.
Wrexham have already made three summer additions, including Danny Imray, who scored the equaliser against Watford and later struck the post. Parkinson said he did not want to sign players simply for the sake of it, and noted that several injured players are expected back soon. Josh Windass is set to return for Friday’s game against Birmingham City, while Libby Cacace and Ben Sheaf remain unavailable. The update underlines the challenge facing Wrexham as they try to build on back-to-back draws and push for a stronger start to the season.
