What the report says

Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has been reprimanded by the International Cricket Council and fined 20 percent of his match fee after an on-field incident during Sunday’s one-day international tri-series match against England, Al Jazeera reported. The ICC said the player also received one demerit point under Level 1 of its Code of Conduct, bringing his total to five because it was his third offence within a 24-month period.

According to the report, the episode took place late in Pakistan’s innings when Rauf appealed for a wide, then exchanged words with England all-rounder Will Jacks. The ICC said he continued the argument after being warned by the umpire and later made contact with the umpire while moving toward Jacks. Rauf accepted the sanction, so no formal hearing was needed.

Al Jazeera also reported that England were fined 15 percent of their match fee for being three overs short of the required over rate after time allowances were considered. The visitors also accepted that penalty. Pakistan won the match by one wicket, and the result helped them move into the final of the tri-series, while England’s slow-over punishment added to a difficult outing.

The case is another reminder that international cricket officials are enforcing both discipline and pace-of-play rules more strictly, especially in tightly contested limited-overs matches.
