The report also said Gotan had been moved to a special duty role at police headquarters in Abuja, although the police had not publicly explained the redeployment.

The development follows a politically sensitive raid on the residence of Osun’s secretary to the state government, Teslim Igbalaye, after which police arrested several people and said they recovered cash and election-related materials. State officials and the ruling Accord Party rejected the operation as politically motivated, while police defended it as a lawful investigation.
