What the report says

Houthi forces said they carried out six attacks on Saudi airports and oil facilities, according to a statement from Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree posted on X and reported by Al Jazeera on 30 October 2026. The claimed targets included the Ras Tanura and Rabigh oil refineries, Aramco facilities in Abqaiq, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam and a Saudi military headquarters in the Najran region. The group said the strikes used missiles and a drone, but there was no independent confirmation of the claims in the report.

The announcement came shortly after a rare meeting in Tehran involving senior officials from Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye and Pakistan. According to Al Jazeera, the talks focused on regional security and reducing tensions, with Saudi Arabia saying it wanted to open channels of negotiation to avoid a return to military escalation. The report noted that the meeting was presented as a diplomatic effort to calm regional disputes.

Al Jazeera also reported that the Saudi-led coalition said its air defences intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles fired toward Riyadh, and Saudi Civil Defence said shrapnel from the interception wounded one person and damaged property. The wider context is the long-running Yemen conflict, where Houthi cross-border attacks on Saudi territory have been a recurring feature of the war.
