Nigeria: Nigeria's Crude Oil Production Down 4 Percent in July - - NUPRC

What the report says
Nigeria’s crude oil output fell in July 2026, but the country still remained slightly above its OPEC production quota for a third straight month, according to the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), as reported by Premium Times and distributed by AllAfrica. The commission said average crude production came to 1.505 million barrels per day, compared with an OPEC quota of 1.5 million barrels per day.
The report said condensate output added about 0.17 million barrels per day, lifting total average daily liquids production to 1.67 million barrels per day. That was lower than June, when crude production averaged 1.53 million barrels per day and total hydrocarbon output reached 1.7 million barrels per day. NUPRC said the month-on-month decline in July was tied to operational problems at the Erha and Akpo fields, which reduced volumes.
Despite the setback, the regulator said overall operations across other producing assets remained relatively stable. It also said producers took steps to limit disruption and keep evacuation and routine operations going. The commission said industry participants were focused on restoring affected capacity and improving reliability across the upstream sector.
NUPRC’s figures also showed that July output varied widely across terminals, with Forcados and Bonny among the highest-producing locations. The update matters because Nigeria is one of Africa’s top oil producers, and even small changes in output can affect state revenue, export earnings and broader energy planning.
