Nigeria: Massive Crowd As Bamanga Tukur Is Laid to Rest

Prominent Nigerians gathered in Yola, Adamawa State, on Sunday, 13 September 2026, for the burial of elder statesman Bamanga Muhammad Tukur, according to Leadership as carried by AllAfrica. Tukur, who was a former governor of the defunct Gongola State and a former national chairman of the PDP, was buried after funeral prayers at the Lamido of Adamawa’s Palace Mosque. Tukur died in Abuja on Saturday, just days before his 91st birthday. He is survived by two wives and 18 children, including Auwal D. Tukur, the Adamawa State secretary to the government.
