What the report says

Dangote Cement Plc reported stronger profit growth for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, according to a Daba Finance report distributed by AllAfrica. The company said its pre-tax profit rose 41.5% year on year to N1.47 trillion, from N1.04 trillion a year earlier, based on unaudited third-quarter results filed with the Nigerian Exchange on October 27.

Revenue also increased, though at a slower pace, climbing 19.6% to N3.77 trillion. Operating profit rose 27.8% to N1.57 trillion. The report said the main factor behind the stronger bottom line was a 58% drop in finance costs, which helped lift margins during the period. Dangote Cement also recorded a larger net foreign exchange loss, which partially offset the gains.

After-tax profit for the period reached N974.79 billion, up 31.2%, while earnings per share rose to N58.37 from N43.82. The report noted higher income tax expenses and increased haulage costs, which remain a pressure point for the business. It also said the group moved from a net debt position at the start of the period to a net cash position by the end of September.

The article added that investors responded positively in the market, with Dangote Cement’s share price rising on October 27. More broadly, the figures matter because Dangote Cement is one of Nigeria’s largest listed industrial companies, so its performance is often watched as a gauge of construction demand, cost conditions and wider corporate earnings trends in the country.
