MP Mubangizi Donates Shs2 Million to Buweekula Team Ahead of Buluuli Clash

According to the report, Buweekula have been facing financial pressure, especially around transport and other logistical needs for players and officials. Team leaders said the donation would help ease those costs and lift morale before the Buluuli game. Mubangizi, who was described as a patron of the team, linked the support to his broader emphasis on sports development and youth talent, and urged the players to stay focused as they attempt to retain the trophy.

Buweekula Ssaza Team Chairperson Richard Kasumba welcomed the contribution, saying it arrived at a difficult financial moment and reflected continued backing from local leaders. He also noted that fundraising for the team has drawn support from Mubende-area legislators, including Mubende Municipality MP Sumayah Nabawanuka, while appealing for more help from stakeholders and well-wishers.

The Masaza Cup is a prominent Buganda Kingdom county football competition, and local teams often rely on community, political and business support to meet campaign costs.
