Minister Babalanda Tasks Buyende Leaders to Deliver Results Under President Museveni’s “Kisanja No More Sleep” Agenda

Watchdog Uganda reported that Minister for the Presidency and Budiope West MP Babirye Milly Babalanda met Buyende District leaders to review delivery of government programmes, with attention on the Parish Development Model and social services. The outlet said the meeting took place in Buyende in a report published July 30, describing it as having been held the previous day.

According to the report, Babalanda passed on greetings from President Yoweri Museveni, First Lady and Education Minister Janet Museveni, and the Office of the President. She also thanked leaders and residents who had supported her reappointment as minister. Her main message to district officials was that political and technical leaders should work together, avoid corruption and focus on ensuring that government wealth-creation programmes benefit ordinary residents.

The minister linked the instructions to Museveni’s “kisanja no sleep” message, which the report presented as a call for stricter performance, less tolerance for diversion of public resources, and action against leaders who fail to deliver. She urged Buyende leaders to monitor PDM money and other state programmes so that support reaches the parish and household level.
