The pause comes amid a broader effort to contain the US-Iran conflict, though Tehran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Iran was not currently negotiating with Washington and would not let the United States set the timetable for war or peace.

The live updates highlighted regional spillover risks. Saudi Arabia said it intercepted drones launched from Iraq toward petroleum facilities in the Eastern Province and the Riyadh region, and blamed Iran-backed militias. Iraq said it would review evidence from Saudi Arabia, while the Islamic Resistance in Iraq denied responsibility.
