Lindsay Clancy trial: Defense, prosecutors question Patrick Clancy; 911 call played in court - WCVB

What the report says
WCVB reported that jurors in Plymouth, Massachusetts, on Wednesday heard the 911 call Patrick Clancy placed after returning home in January 2023 and finding his three children injured in the basement. The testimony came in the murder trial of his former wife, Lindsay Clancy, a Duxbury mother charged in the deaths of 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan. She has pleaded not guilty to three counts each of murder.
According to WCVB’s account of the testimony, Patrick Clancy said he had left the home to pick up medication and dinner. When he returned, he found the house quiet, saw blood in a bedroom and discovered Lindsay Clancy outside below a second-story window with serious injuries. He testified that she said she had tried to kill herself and told him the children were in the basement. In court, he described finding exercise bands around the children’s necks. The 911 recording was played for jurors but is not being publicly released; WCVB reported that Lindsay Clancy cried as it played and that at least one juror became emotional.
The defense cross-examined Patrick Clancy about Lindsay Clancy’s mental health, motherhood, work as a labor and delivery nurse, sleep problems and medication changes in the months before the deaths. WCVB reported that defense attorney Kevin Reddington highlighted family photos, notes and medication bottles that police did not seize, while prosecutors questioned Patrick Clancy about prescriptions and his understanding of how many pills had been taken.
Other witnesses included employees from a CVS pharmacy and a restaurant who described routine interactions involving Lindsay Clancy or the family’s dinner order earlier that day. The case matters in part because jurors are being asked to weigh evidence about intent and criminal responsibility alongside testimony about postpartum mental health treatment and reported psychiatric symptoms.
