What the report says

KURA Asset Management has entered Uganda’s investment management market, according to The Independent Uganda, positioning itself to serve individuals, families and institutions seeking professionally managed investments beyond ordinary savings. The launch comes as Uganda’s collective investment industry has expanded quickly, with the Capital Markets Authority cited in the report as saying professionally managed assets have risen sharply in recent years. The article also notes more recent Ministry of Finance data putting collective investment scheme assets at about UGX 7.08 trillion by August 2026.

The company is introducing several offerings, including the KURA Income Fund, KURA Dollar Fund, Private Wealth Management and Family Wealth Planning. These products are designed to cover different investor needs, from income and capital preservation to dollar-denominated exposure, customized portfolio strategies, and planning for estate transfer and family governance.

KURA Board Chairman Peter Kabatsi said the firm wants to help clients choose investments suited to their goals and risk appetite, while Chief Executive Officer Ronald Kasolo framed the launch as part of a broader shift from saving to deliberate wealth management. The report says Kasolo has more than 20 years of experience across asset management, regulation and pensions.

The launch was officiated by State Minister for Finance and Planning Amos Lugoloobi and featured Kenyan business leader Kiprono Kittony, who spoke about technology, regulation and deeper African capital markets. The Independent Uganda said KURA is licensed and regulated by the Capital Markets Authority, and the development matters because it adds another player to a market that is drawing more savers into formal investment products.
