What the report says

Musician Mansur Ssemanda, known as King Saha, has begun efforts to complete the unfinished home of the late Ugandan comedian Yowana Mbuuse, alias Kapere, at Bulimu Village in Kyampisi Sub-county, Mukono District. According to Nile Post, construction materials including sand, bricks and cement have already been delivered to the site, where Kapere had hoped to build a permanent house for his family.

The report says the project is intended for Kapere’s widow, Lydia Nakandi, and their children. It follows promises made at the comedian’s burial to support the family, including help with the house and the children’s education. King Saha said he had earlier promised Kapere a concert to raise money for the home and is now acting on that commitment. He also said he had been sent by National Unity Platform president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu to help oversee the effort.

King Saha urged builders to handle the work honestly and carefully, given the family’s loss. Other well-wishers have reportedly contributed doors, windows, cash and more materials. Nakandi welcomed the support, saying the burial promises were being turned into practical help.

An engineer involved in the project said the house could be finished by December 2026 if enough materials and other needs are available. Residents of the village also praised the initiative, saying it helps ensure Kapere’s family is not left behind after his death.
