Jambojet to Resume Nairobi-Entebbe Flights After Six-Year Exit

What the report says
Kenyan low-cost carrier Jambojet says it will restart daily flights between Nairobi and Entebbe on October 1, 2026, marking its return to Uganda after a six-year break. The move, reported by Nile Post, is aimed at expanding travel and cargo links between Uganda and Kenya as demand for regional transport grows.
According to the airline, the restored route will carry both passengers and freight, and one-way fares will begin at about US$170. Jambojet chief executive Karanja Ndegwa said the comeback is part of the company’s wider push to improve regional connectivity and keep air travel affordable. The airline also said the route is expected to support onward connections from Nairobi to Kenyan coastal destinations such as Mombasa, Diani, Malindi and Lamu.
The Nairobi-Entebbe market is already served by several carriers, including Kenya Airways, Uganda Airlines, Safarilink and RwandAir, so Jambojet’s return is likely to intensify competition on pricing, schedules and service. The airline estimates the corridor could handle about 300,000 passengers in 2026, underscoring the size of the market.
Jambojet first operated in Uganda in 2018 but later suspended regional services during the COVID-19 period, focusing instead on its domestic business in Kenya. The airline says it has since expanded its fleet and passenger numbers, while Uganda travel industry representatives welcomed the move as a boost for trade, tourism and cross-border mobility.
