Rediff.com, citing PTI and edited by its sports desk, reported on July 27, 2026, that HS Prannoy and Unnati Hooda will be the leading Indian names at the Taipei Open Super 300 badminton tournament, with opening-round play beginning Tuesday. Prannoy, seeded seventh, is scheduled to face Japan’s Minoru Koga in the men’s singles round of 32, while third seed Unnati starts her women’s singles campaign against a qualifier.

The report said both players are seeking steadier results. Prannoy, a bronze medallist at the 2023 Asian Games and World Championships, is listed at world No. 36 and has had limited success clearing first rounds this season. Unnati, ranked world No. 24 and a Polish International winner this season, has also been trying to move past a run of early exits.

India’s men’s singles lineup also includes Tharun Mannepalli, M Manjunath, S Dayanand and Kiran George.
