Grealish can still have Everton future - Moyes

What the report says
Everton manager David Moyes says Jack Grealish still has a path back into the squad, although he would not say when the midfielder might return. The 31-year-old Manchester City loanee was left out of Everton’s recent wins over Newcastle, including Thursday’s 3-1 Carabao Cup victory, after what was believed to be an unauthorised absence from training. Moyes said the player is currently unavailable and that the club would decide when he is ready to come back.
Grealish also missed Everton’s 1-0 Premier League win at St James’ Park on Monday. The club attributed his absence to a lack of fitness, but Moyes declined to confirm whether the issue was purely physical or whether the disciplinary matter had been resolved. Everton’s next match is against Coventry on Friday, and the manager said he was unsure whether Grealish would be involved.
The situation matters because Grealish is trying to rebuild his career after losing his place at Manchester City despite a high-profile move from Aston Villa in 2021. He had been brought back to Everton on another loan spell this season after an earlier loan last year was shortened by injury. With his City contract due to end at the close of the season, his status at Everton remains uncertain, even as the club leaves open the possibility of reintegration.
