Forest need balance between Woodstock and military - Glasner

What the report says
Nottingham Forest manager Oliver Glasner has said the club must find a better balance between trust and respect as he tries to halt a poor start to the season. Speaking after Forest’s 2-0 loss at Brentford, their fourth defeat in five matches and sixth in 10 games in all competitions, he argued the team cannot function with either too much freedom or too much rigidity.
Glasner, who arrived in the summer, said Forest need a mix of “fun” and high standards, using contrasting descriptions of a carefree atmosphere and a more disciplined, demanding one. He said his main values are trust and respect, and that the squad needs both if it is to perform at a higher level. The comments come with Forest 19th in the Premier League and still without a home league win or goal this season.
The manager also said he had delayed speaking out in the hope that performances might improve, but felt he had to address the issue after the Brentford defeat. BBC Sport reported that Glasner is not under immediate pressure and remains in regular contact with the club’s hierarchy, including figures linked to owner Evangelos Marinakis. The broader context is a Forest side still seeking stability after several managerial changes last season.
