Duran & Osmand spark Celtic into life - but where does that leave Hogh?

What the report says
Celtic’s Europa League match against Besiktas at Parkhead on Thursday was transformed by substitutes Callum Osmand and Camilo Duran, who helped the Scottish side come from behind to secure their first win in the competition this season. With about an hour played, Celtic were trailing 1-0 and facing a fourth straight defeat in the league phase before manager Martin O’Neill changed the game with two attacking changes from the bench.
Osmand scored almost immediately after coming on, while Duran was later moved into the central striker role after the withdrawal of Kasper Hogh. That switch proved decisive: Duran scored twice in the final stages, including the winner after Besiktas had briefly levelled. The result underlined Celtic’s ability to respond late in matches and gave O’Neill a major boost after a difficult spell in Europe.
The performance also raises questions over Hogh’s place in the team. The club’s record signing has yet to settle into a consistent scoring run since arriving from Bodo/Glimt, and BBC Sport noted that his role as the main striker now looks uncertain. By contrast, Duran’s impact through the middle and Osmand’s direct running have strengthened the case for both to be considered for bigger roles in upcoming matches.
