England captain Kane signs new Bayern deal

What the report says
England captain Harry Kane has signed a new contract with Bayern Munich that will keep him at the German club until 2029, according to BBC Sport. The 33-year-old striker had been in the final year of the four-season deal he agreed after leaving Tottenham for about £86 million in 2023.
BBC Sport reports that Kane has become central to Bayern’s success, scoring a club-record 61 goals in 51 matches last season as the team won both the league and the cup. He said he feels settled in Munich and praised the club, its supporters and manager Vincent Kompany, adding that his family is happy there and he wanted to remain at Bayern.
The new deal extends a spell that has already brought major individual and team achievements. Kane has scored 102 goals in 102 Bundesliga appearances, won three straight top-scorer awards and lifted two league titles with Bayern. He was also named the world’s best male player at the Ballon d’Or ceremony last month, becoming the first Bundesliga player to win the award since 1996.
For England, Kane remains the national team’s record scorer and one of the most-capped players in the side’s history. His extension gives Bayern longer-term security around one of Europe’s leading forwards and signals his intention to continue competing for trophies in Germany.
