C-Care and DFCU Bank partner to expand access to quality healthcare through Blue Care

What the report says
C-Care Uganda and dfcu Bank have teamed up to promote Blue Care Insurance, a health cover product aimed at making medical protection more accessible to individuals and families in Uganda. According to The Independent Uganda, the partnership combines dfcu’s banking reach with C-Care’s network of 21 healthcare facilities to widen access to care and reduce the financial burden of treatment.
The announcement featured at C-Care’s Customer Appreciation Dinner in Kampala on 30 October, where the company also used the event to gather feedback from former patients and other stakeholders. C-Care said the discussion was part of its wider effort to improve service delivery and make healthcare more responsive to patient needs.
Blue Care, launched earlier in the year, is intended to extend coverage beyond typical employer-based schemes. The product is open to people aged 18 to 70, with annual premiums starting at UGX 1 million, and is available to both dfcu account holders and non-account holders.
C-Care said it continues to expand its healthcare network, invest in digital booking tools and improve patient experience as part of its goal of becoming a trusted healthcare partner in the region. In practical terms, the partnership reflects a growing trend in Uganda’s health sector toward linking private healthcare providers with financial institutions to improve affordability and access.
