What the report says

Fox News reported that a new assessment from the J7 Large Communities’ Task Force Against Antisemitism found 2025 was the deadliest year for antisemitic attacks worldwide since 1994. The report counted 20 deaths in antisemitic attacks, all in J7 countries, and said violent incidents rose 97%. The J7 covers major Jewish diaspora communities in Australia, Canada, Argentina, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and France; the Anti-Defamation League is one of the U.S. organizations involved.

According to Fox News, the report recorded more than 23,000 antisemitic incidents across J7 countries in 2025, a 136% increase in total incidents since 2022. The article linked the surge to the aftermath of Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attacks and the war in Gaza, while saying the report described anti-Zionism, campus tensions and online extremism as factors contributing to antisemitic expression and insecurity among Jewish communities.

The country-level findings cited by Fox included a 270% rise in incidents in Australia since 2021, where the report referenced the deadly Bondi Beach attack; 8,725 incidents in Germany, described as the highest per-capita rate among the countries studied; 6,274 U.S. incidents in 2025, including 300 physical assaults; and increases in Canada, France, the U.K. and Argentina. The report also included a special section on Ireland, which is not part of the J7, noting 143 incidents among a small Jewish population.

Fox quoted ADL official Aykan Erdemir as urging governments to prioritize prevention, accountability and broader cooperation beyond security measures. The findings matter because they frame antisemitism as a growing public-safety and civil-rights concern across several large democracies, not only as a threat to Jewish institutions.
