Agule Residents Praise MP Ibaseret for Delivering on Key Manifesto Pledges

Dokolo Post reports that residents in Agule County, Pallisa District, have commended their Member of Parliament, Josephine Ibaseret, for acting on campaign commitments, with particular attention to the purchase of a dedicated water bowser. The report says the bowser is intended to ease water shortages during funerals and other community gatherings, where access to water has been a recurring burden for families and residents.

According to the outlet, Bosco Okiria, coordinator for Opadoi Parish in Akisim Sub-county, said the intervention addressed a local problem that had especially affected women, who often had to leave burial proceedings to search for water. Ibaseret told residents that the bowser was a practical response because some bereaved families could not afford about UGX 200,000 to fuel the district water tanker, which she said was also subject to administrative access procedures and primarily meant for road works.

The report also notes that local leaders used the engagement to raise other development concerns. Chelekura Sub-county LCIII Chairperson John Bosco Okolong welcomed the bowser, while Pallisa District Deputy Speaker Charles Obela asked for support to complete a long-stalled fence at Opadoi Primary School and install solar power to assist evening remedial lessons and improve lighting.

Ibaseret acknowledged that Agule still faces challenges including political divisions, limited secondary school access and weak performance in Universal Primary Education schools. Dokolo Post says her campaign coordinator, Justine Okiria, indicated she is lobbying for Universal Secondary Education seed schools in Akisim, Oboliso, Agule and Chelekura. The MP urged residents across political lines to remain united as she seeks further government support.
