An Afghan boxer suspected of killing a Scottish aid worker in Greece has returned to court in Athens for a second appearance, according to BBC World News. Sharif Ahmadzai, 26, faces charges including homicide with intent, robbery and weapons offences in connection with the death of Elisabeth Ross, 38, who was found in a derelict building in the Kypseli area of the Greek capital on 18 July.

BBC reported that Ahmadzai arrived at court on Thursday morning by unmarked car after being given a court-appointed lawyer and time to prepare his defence the previous day. Greek officials have said he admitted moving Ross’s body but denied the homicide allegation. The case also includes claims that bank cards linked to Ross were used to remove more than €10,000 from her accounts.

The BBC said Ross, who was from Edinburgh and was known as Lisa, had been volunteering with a refugee support group in Athens. She had arrived in Greece on 26 June and had been staying in the Keratsini area of Piraeus before her death.
