A principal officer at ZANU-PF headquarters in Harare has appeared in court on allegations that he raped his 22-year-old stepdaughter, according to 263Chat as distributed by AllAfrica. The accused, identified as Kefas Maunganidze, was brought before Harare Magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa and was released on US$500 bail. In the account presented to court, the complainant was in her mother’s bedroom when Maunganidze entered, argued with her over her sister’s graduation, and then allegedly assaulted her. The report says police were later called after the complainant told her sister what had happened.

Her sister reportedly informed their parents, who then took the complainant to Mabelreign Police Station to make a report. Police visited the scene and arrested the accused, the article said.
